從京都的國際學術會議、千葉的胎兒醫學診所、到大阪的亞太母胎醫學大會，我們可以感受到身為胎兒醫學界新血的Merryl，對於這個領域充滿探索的熱情和學習的動力，並在每一次的交流和觀摩中累積成長。我們希望Merryl回到印尼後能發揮所學，也期待未來能有更多年輕世代投入胎兒醫學的傳承與發展。
Learning and Collaboration at the 15th International Cleft and Craniofacial Congress
Kyoto, Japan (Oct 20–25, 2025)— As an international fellow from Indonesia at Taiji Clinic and the Taiwan Institute of Fetal Medicine, I had the opportunity to attend the 15th International Congress on Cleft Lip, Palate and Related Craniofacial Anomalies from October 20–24, 2025, followed by a post-congress workshop on October 25. The congress provided a valuable platform to learn from international experts and deepen my understanding of craniofacial development, diagnosis, and multidisciplinary care.

One of the highlights for me was seeing our team’s work represented in the oral session. Dr. Yang Tze-Yi（楊子逸醫師）presented our study, “A Joint Prenatal Orofacial Cleft Clinic Improves the Accuracy Rate of Prenatal Diagnosis – Experiences from Taiwan,” on behalf of our colleagues. Being part of a team whose research was shared at a global forum was both meaningful and encouraging for my own growth.
Observership at FMF Fetal Clinic Strengthened My Clinical Perspective
Chiba, Japan (Oct 26–31, 2025)— had the privilege of observing at the FMF Fetal Clinic under the supervision of Dr. Nobuhiko Hayashi, a fetal medicine specialist, and his team. During this observership, I observed advanced fetal ultrasound practice in a real-world clinical setting and learned how complex cases are approached with structure and care.

This experience left a deep impression on me. I observed advanced fetal ultrasound techniques in daily practice and learned from Dr. Hayashi and the team’s careful, thoughtful approach to each case. It was inspiring to see how technical precision and gentle communication with patients can go hand in hand. The team was very welcoming and patient with my many questions. Their kindness made me feel comfortable, even as a visiting fellow from another country, and encouraged me to keep improving my own skills.
Presenting at APCMFM 2025 Became a Milestone in My Fellowship
Osaka, Japan (Nov 1–3, 2025)— I concluded my journey by attending the 18th Asia Pacific Congress in Maternal Fetal Medicine (APCMFM). The congress broadened my view of current developments in maternal–fetal medicine and gave me the chance to engage with colleagues across the region.

I was honored to present our team’s e-poster, “The Armadillo Sign — A New Prenatal Ultrasound Clue for Pierre Robin Sequence.” Standing among many important studies and dedicated teams reminded me how much there is still to learn, and it strengthened my commitment to bring new knowledge and practical improvements back to prenatal care in Indonesia.
